The Team
Jonathan Bailey
Better known as “Jono,” Jonathan learned to sail in an opti on North Lake in Wisconsin. These small boats introduced Jono to his passions for speed, sailing, and competition that drive him today.
Later sailing across many fleets including E Scows, M15s, and 420s, Jono has competed at the highest levels of one-design racing and collegiate sailing. He is a skilled and highly competitive racer, having competed at countless events including Match Race Nationals, Coed Nationals, Team Race Nationals, and Singlehanded Nationals. Most recently, Jono claimed the Top Youth Title at the 2024 E Scow National Championship.
In his free time, Jono likes to pursue other outlets for speed like cycling and cross country skiing.
Declan Donovan
Born and raised in San Francisco, Declan has spent a lot of time on the wire. His experience ranges from racing C420s as a member of the St. Francis YC Race Team to sailing Nacra 15s at the Richmond YC to training on the 49er during high school.
Countless hours out on the infamously windy and choppy SF bay have honed Declan into a seasoned, high performance racer. Beyond SF, however, Declan remains a competitive sailor; he is the first College of Charleston Main Trimmer/Tactician to win the Shields Trophy.
When he is not on the wire or out on the bay, Declan is busy completing his degree in atmospheric physics and mountaineering.
